Candidate for Vice President joins WatchDog Nation

sarah-palin.jpgSpeaking of politics . . .

I received what appears to be a legitimate e-mail from Wayne Allyn Root, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party and a sports handicapper (with a bit of an unsavory reputation) whose ads have been running on WFAN.

I had suggested Mr. Root would be a more relevant halftime interview for "Monday Night Football" than Barack Obama or John McCain. Mr. Root's response:

"You are correct - I'd make one heck of a political interview for Berman. I guarantee you that I'm the only Vice Presidential candidate who can teach Chris about how to cut government, cut taxes, increase freedom, rescind the bailout, increase school choice... and analyze the MNF game too."

Here's what I don't get: I have written much more about Gov. Sarah Palin than about Root, but I still am waiting for my first e-mail from her.

What do the latest polls in NM say about Tuesday's big event?

Uh Neil, I thought you swore off jumping into the political arena on this blog?

Are you sure you want to go here?

Cuz I'll take Root's slanderous so-called "unsasvory reputation" over the likes of "unsavory reputations" of people who's social and political circles include the likes of Khalidi, Ayers, and brimstone hurling preachers.

As just a simple little blog commenter, who shudders at the continued adoration by the National Presstapo of these unsavory folks, I'd rather worry myself with potential candidates who may or may not steal my paper (money) rather than those who are out to destoy my body parts.

"What do the latest polls in NM say about Tuesday's big event?"

The polls aren't saying much, and the checks are surrounded.

Don't get me started on polls.
(Whoops, you already did).

Whatever happened to the concept of the SECRET BALLOT?
Why is it that with every phone call I receive (3-4 per evening) and every knock on my door the person inquiring about my preferences KNOWS MY NAME?
I thought polls were supposed to be RANDOM SAMPLES?
What's random about the person performing the "random sample" calling me and saying "Hi 505?"

Excuse me while I go off on a paranoid delusional rant here, but is anyone else concerned AT ALL that if these NAME lists of who people are voting for fall into the wrong hands that things could get really ugly in this country?
Does anyone NOT REALIZE, that's what happened in Germany in the 1930's?

We have had a record breaking 850 or so "national polls" performed in the last 2 weeks.
Isn't that a tad sloppy?
Doesn't that overkill open up a whole can of worms of potential abuse?

So Neil to succinctly answer your question about the "polls in NM"
I don't have a friggin clue, and I don't give a damn.
Cuz I fear and loathe polls.
When ANYONE asks me who I am voting for I have a simple answer.
NONE OF YOUR GD BUSINESS!!!!!

Just my healthy dose of paranoia, from 2 time zones away.

P.S...what's with the screwy time assignments on Newsday blogs lately? Sometimes I am posting comments in the past.

Very disciplined bunch of commenters here on the sports media blog. We've all decided to cede this political post to 505 and not engage his paranoia.
