Newsday columnist suggests you support your Mets

showImage.aspx.jpgSure, I do a respectable job collecting page views on the blog. But when it comes to actual, official columns, no one, but NO ONE knows how to push buttons and generate comments the way young Jim Baumbach does.

Check out this one, urging patience and understanding from Mets fans. Yikes!

Why not just poke them with a stick?

Jim is part of the team that produces The Final Score blog, which often is kind enough to link to mine.

It also is more aggressive in posting pictures of scantily clad females than I am, if you're into that sort of thing.

I checked, and it appears Glauber still has a blog, too.

Eh, the response to this article by Mr. Baumbach is nothing compared to the article (no longer mentioned by me in public as part of my Panmunjom truce so I could comment on his blog) written last November about a certain Hall of Fame hockey coach.

There's only 52 comments tagged onto it as I write this.

By this time of day last November he had infuriated, as he might say on his blog but won't because we have a truce, "the only 500 fans of that team on Long Island".

He's done worse.
And I like to think he's getting better.

Very funny, Uncle Leo.

You can have your page views, my friend. I've got the very "best" of Islander505, and that's more important.

I know, I-505. I had the infamous Arbour column in mind when I made the reference to Jim's comment-generating past.

I'm of course a fan of this blog. I don't understand the use of scantily attired girls.

Susan,

Have you seen the alternative?

Anyone who has even a casual eye for art appreciates a reprieve from Warhol's Campbell Soup Can with Renoir's Bather on a Rock from time to time.
