Mike K. doesn't expect Mike F.'s ratings to plummet
If I were a decent reporter, I'd have asked this weeks ago, but better late than never:
Yo, 1050 ESPN radio's Michael Kay, what do you think of the shakeup on your afternoon drive competition down the dial?
"I think it gives us an opportunity. But I don't think it will have as negative an effect on Mike [Francesa] as people say. People are ingrained to listening to Mike and Chris. What it opens up for us is maybe some people will sample us because it’s different there now. I want to be as good as I can be every single sentence so when people sample they [like what they hear]. We're not looking to knock one of us out of business. We just want a little bit bigger piece of the pie."
