CBS, U.S. Open offer live video of delayed men's final
Back in 1987, the last time the U.S. Open men's final was played on a Monday, live video streaming on the Internet was not a viable option.
This time it is, and CBSSports.com and USopen.org will offer it for people with easier access to their computer than to their TV at the awkward hour of 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
This will come in particularly handy on the West Coast, where the match will start in the middle of the work day.
Around here, the challenge will be watching on the LIRR or LIE or subway, I guess.

Why isn't this airing in primetime? As far as I know, all of CBS's shows are repeats tonight. On the surface, it seems pretty pathetic that the finals of a major sports tournament is being shown at 5pm on a Monday.
That's a fair question. I will inquire.
There's still this thing called Monday Night Football.
Think CBS must of thought about their NFL partners while setting the time for this match with the USTA.
The NFL is the Sun, all things revolve around it.
Fair point, except the finals were originally scheduled to air opposite the NFL, Sunday at 4.
I remember watching the end of that U.S. Open final in '87, then going to see U2 play at Giants Stadium. Just sayin'.
