LPGA says nyet to Koreans who don't habla anglaise
The LPGA's crackdown on golfers who don't speak English is a shocker, and a great subject for debate, since both sides are wrong, and both sides are right.
Discuss among yourselves.
(Good thing the Chinese didn't institute a rule like this for the Olympics. I wonder how fluent Michael Phelps is in Mandarin.)
Here is Mark Herrmann's column on this topic.

Sounds like Xenophobia to me.
Funny that this was never an issue until the Americans started to get their tushes whipped by a bunch of Koreans, huh?
jeez Neil - least you could've done was link to Mark Hermann's column on the topic.

A case could be made for the NFL, NBA and MLB to do the same.
Other than the standard "I thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for gibbin me disabilltee", I rarely understand a word many of their participants utter.
Other than that.....who the hell does the LPGA think they are?
Have they suddenly become an offshoot of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
Besides, since when has "TALKING" become PC in golf?
Shut up and putt will ya?
There's a threesome waiting to hit up on the fairway.
Great idea, too bad our government doesn't think the same way. You need to be able to communicate with your pro am partners who are paying a lot of money to play. Who wants to spend a grand to play with a robot who doesn't speak? It will also help to communicate with opponents and rules officials during play and media after play. Do you think if 45 Americans were playing on the Korean tour they would make accommodations for them to speak only English? Bobby Valentine learned to speak Japanese.
Would Chris Russo pass the English proficiency test?
