Jerome Holtzman, known as sportswriting 'Dean,' is dead

3575Jerome_Holtzman.jpgJerome Holtzman, the much-respected "Dean" of baseball writers, inventor of the save statistic and author of the classic book "No Cheering in the Press Box,'' has died at age 81.

What?!?! No mention of the word "mensch" when describing Mr. Holtzman? For shame!
