Gary Cohen, Damion Easley both know Florida ballpark
Wednesday night, top of the seventh, two outs, one on for Damion Easley.
SNY's Gary Cohen: "Easley, who played here a couple of years ago as a Florida Marlin, knows this ballpark well and knows the place to hit a home run is right down the leftfield line, with that short fence."
Three seconds later: "Two-oh, line drive deep leftfield, right down the line, that ball is outta here! Damion Easley with a pinch-hit, three-run homer and he gets the Mets back to within a run. It's 5-4 Florida. I guess he remembered."

There's a Yiddish word for jinx that I can't spell, but I think of it often during Mets broadcasts. There have been a number of times this season where Gary will say something like, "he hasn't given up a hit to a lefthander in 38 at bats" and then, boom - base hit. It's happened so often, I almost cringe when he makes a statement like that during a game.
Last night, however, he used his powers for good and I actually expected Easley to go deep right after Gary made his comment.
On the radio, Wayne Hagin said Easley was capable of a long ball IMMEDIATELY before the home run pitch. Not bad timing either. Wayne has pointed out a few things this year and was right on the money.
