Jay Mariotti still not a widely beloved figure in Chicago
I am getting more and more jealous of my Tribune teammate (for now) Teddy Greenstein in Chicago, because Jay Mariotti keeps giving him endless juicy material to work with.
Why can't we have nutty columnists like this in New York?

What an idiot Moriaty is. I still remember calling him when he was at AM 620 (Remember them?). I said Pedro Martinez great relief performance in Game 5 of the ALDS was gutless. He said gutless?? I said yeah because if he was healthy enough to pitch innings 3-9, he was healthy enough to start. It turned out Boston won, but Pedro came in when they had already given up 8 runs!! He could have been relieving in an 8-0 game yet Moriaty couldn't understand. He always thought his opinion was the only opinion.
Besides King Wally at the paper version of News 12, we've got the two short guy syndrome fellas at the News [Lupica and Raissman] .. and to top them all off at the Post down-under barfly Steve Dunleavy.
An age-old question. Does anybody like Jay Marriotti?
