Chris Botta has only a month left in his extended, limited, post-Islanders blog engagement, so I guess it was about time for him to get around to the obligatory Erin Andrews post required of all sports bloggers.

TIME OUT..okay...side note....reason I don't watch NBA basketball anymore.

What happened to the rule book? Since when does enforcing the rules ruin a game?
I won't even bring up 3 second violations (but I just did).
Fact of the matter is...violations of the rules are overlooked and in fact encouraged in pro hoops.....It is a travesty.
One of the things that improved hockey over the last few years is now the referees call hooking penalties every chance they get.
It is simply no longer allowed.
Just my opinion.
