Yikes! Did David Cone just say what I think he said on YES?
The announcers were discussing in the bottom of the first the fact Padres pitcher Josh Banks has eight pitches in his arsenal.
John Flaherty: Eight pitches! I'm trying to figure out the signs for all those pitches, David.
Cone: Yeah, I mean, you've got to mix it up there, a little hook 'em horns sign, maybe even a little middle finger sign.
Flaherty and Michael Kay: stunned silence.
Watching this game, and the beach volleyball on Channel 110, is going to make it difficult to write my newspaper column for the Friday newspaper. But the real pros know how to filter out distractions.

Well, David Cone is a recognized expert in the use of the hands at ballparks.
Cone started off slow but has been great in the booth as of late. he's very knowledgeable and funny. I loved yesterday when Kay mentioned Peavy's born again ways and Coney stated he's never trusted anyone who doesn't swear.. funny stuff.
Kay: Did you ever have any teammates that didn't swear, David?
Cone: None that I trusted
To say this was not expected is a complete farce. He's David friggin' Cone people!
