The Rangers have avoided arbitration and signed Dan Fritsche to a contract.
Terms were not immediately disclosed.
Fritsche, a 23-year-old center, was obtained in a trade with Columbus earlier this month.

Should be a great addition to the third line.
Good trade and great signing.
Now could we please trade off Dawes and get a real second line scoring winger!
Good news, this coming after we got rid of Hollweg, good start to the week, tomorrow a Prucha trade would be nice.
Dawes and Prucha are both relatively cheap against the cap and have little or no trade value at this point. I think the only choice is to play them and hope they produce enough to boost their value or prove they're worth holding on to. They're both still young players and with Jagr, Straka & Shanahan out of the way both should receive better quality minutes and power play time. If there's still no increase in production then it's time to cut bait with them but give them a chance.
