actually after closer examination I don't want Richards, his 13 hits in 62 games makes me want to puke. We already got softies like Straka, Jagr, Malik, etc.
vgb, the Rangers already have $14 million commited to Gomez and Drury next year, they're not going to want to commit another $8 million to Richards, especially since they're going to be in the market for a big defenseman this summer.

Campbell's numbers aren't as good as everyone thinks they are, especially if he is going to want 6-6.5M for the next 5 years.

If the Rangers tried to call up Hutch or Pock they would both be claimed off of waivers. I'm thinking Pock is trade bait and Hutch is the Wolf Pack captain for a few years to come.
I think we are down to hoping for Hainsey or Liles or holding firm til next year and make a run at Redden or Cambell if they are still available to be signed.
I still like the idea of trying to get Malone and Orpik from the penguins. But Hainsey & Chimera seems more likely.

I've said it before, as have others, I'd be happy with Boynton. Very physical and he doesn't handle the puck like a grenade. I think Pru and someone from the Pack could land him.
This is a fun day, just hope Sather doesn't give up any studs. Let's just bring in a physical Dman and run with these guys.

Rangers have to give up and get rid of Malik and Hossa. Even if it is for conditional picks or some low level guys. Same applies to Montoya - Rangers locked up King henry, and Valiquette is doing nicely at back-up. Get ANYONE or ANYTHING!
or, if they can package up Dawes, Montoya or Callahan, along with a Hossa or Malik, say for a Liles or Hunasey, do it.
Rangers can win with what they got, but need to get rid of dead weight in Hossa and Malik. Add a Darcy Tucker or some other guy that can prove his worth come playoff time.
If anything, Rangers should and almost have to make a move for someone (not a high end guy like ricjards or marian hossa, but a mid level guy) - it shakes things up in a positve way (i.e. Avery)
id love to see avery and darcy tucker on the same team after what happened in toronto, but they could become the bash brothers ala fultan reed and dean portman in mighty ducks 2
