We were all gathered around the press room TVs here at MSG watching NESN as the Bruins' Patrice Bergeron lay motionless and was wheeled off on a gurney after a hit-from-behind boarding by the Flyers' Randy Jones.
Jones, of course, was tossed (game misconduct) and deservedly so.
Bergeron was going for the puck when he was splattered by Jones, who clearly had the option to not deliver a high hit,
Depressing.

I wonder how many Flyers goons will be suspended this season. Such an easy team to hate.
i gotta be honest zip, i didnt think it was an intentionally dirty play, it looked accidental to me. bergeron stopped skating to play the puck instead of playing the puck and continuing his stride, jones did what any other defenseman does in that situation, follow through with the body. unfortunately bergeron was bent over at the time of the hit and was driven into the boards.
weve seen hits like this a billion times before, this time it resulted in a scary injury, but i dont think there was any intent at all behind the hit.
At what point does the team get investigated for such on ice behavior?
Philly has had two 20+ game suspensions already, and they have only played 10 games plus the preseason. Now this play (which I must admit I have not watched yet) results in a hospitalization. If another big suspension is handed down to a Philly player, can the coach or organization face league sanctions as well?
The bigger question is: Does the league really mean to combat the dangerous hits and head injuries that seem to be on the rise?
This team need Sean Avery badly. THIS TEAM CAN'T SCORE FOR Sh7T. BTW DUMP MALIK. I never seen a slow defenseman like him. Even my grandma is faster skates him. PLZ GET A REAL "DEFENSE"MAN
Let's see how they handle it. Maybe they can pull it out. Maybe they won't. It would be nice if they could.
we have problems scoring, every goal counts, that is why we have Strudwick and Orr playing instead of Pock and Moore
Wolfpack can barely score, it has to be Renney's genius system. It just isn't working., nothing wrong with firing a coach, all GMs do it, but Renney is too special, he is our messiah, we will not be able to win without him.
Would like to see a review of the hit. Jones's statement after the game seemed like he was really apologetic, as opposed to Simon (who claims not to remember the hit in one interview then goes into detail about what he was feeling in the same one by Greg Logan), Bertuzzi, Downie, and Boulerice.

A hint of sarchasm? NO!
How about Shanahan and Gomez for Savard and Murray?
