Did anyone see Jagr on that shift when the Flyers just scored? He loafed around and stayed at center ice the whole 2 minutes. He should've been off the ice but as usual he stays on too long and then he watches from center ice. I'm getting tired of him doing nothing in the defensive zone. I know we have to take the good(very good) with the bad but watching him give little or no effort on D makes me sick. Lets get some goals and whoop these sallys, uh Flyers.

I didn't see Jagr on their goal, but I think Jagr looks great out there. He is forechecking and creating chances and not afraid to shoot.

I don't think I like both first lines against each other, I think Renney should try to get Jagr out their against one of Philly's other lines.

Very physical game, doesn't seem like the Rangers are backing down though, if they can pull this one out against a healthy philly, could be some good momemtum.

Although,
WHERE IS THE "SECOND" LINE????

Hossa is the man.

Jagr did create that goal with his forecheck but I'd love to see that all the time.. Yesss, 4th line getting some. Sweet. Anyway, Jags needs to put forth more effort on D IMHO. Go Strangers !!!

Wow, Jags hit more guys on that shift than he has in the last 3 years. What is he 255 lbs. I know that's not his style but I love seeing that.

I should post more often about Jags effort on D. He really backed up his comments about him stepping up and taking charge. I might catch some heat about my comment regarding the 1st flyer goal but if anybody has tivo, etc., let me know if I'm wrong because I saw him cherry picking at center ice waiting for an outlet pass when the Flyers scored. Great win today!!!!

phee -- there was a delayed penalty coming against the Rangers when the Flyers scored their lone goal, so I doubt Jagr was cherry picking at that point in the game

they won. lets enjoy the victory.

If they play smart and limit the turnovers in there zone( a huge problem), they will make the playoffs......

Ok folks, here it is...

The money under the cap is not exact, but doable (I think). The best way to fix all that ails the Rangers (except chemistry)and I feel is relatively realistic.

the way I see i, there are four forward spots available (I would like to keep prucha, but he will surely be the cornerstone of a deal). we have jags, straka, nylander, shanny, cullen, betts, hollweg, and orts. that leaves room for a 2nd line pivot (forsberg) a 2nd line winger (tkachuk sp?, guerin, maybe bertuzzi), an actual enforcer (laraque, brashear, or maybe simon again), and a good mucker that can net a few goals and add grit (tootoo, laparrier, or hinote). On D, i would like to see three open spots, but i think two is more reasonable (keeping tyutin, rosie, rachunek, and ward) malik just has to go period. Adding a big strong HARD HITTING D is a must (see hatcher, gauthier, bowmeester, vaananen, orpik, norstrom,or even cullimore) and a real pointman/puckmover, but they are hard to come by(pitkanen off the top of my head) so why not wait till staal is done with his minor season and bring him up. Cutting weekes loose would free up valuable dollars, but I think montoya will be part of a deal, and a good inexpensive backup is hard to find (maybe caron from out west) so he will stay with his big backup salary. Ok tear me apart and let me know how terrible this idea is.

Second line? Coach fooled them. They didn't know that wherever Hossa is, that's the fourth line. So our third line with Krog got matched with their fourth line, giving us an edge.It worked.

I feel sorry for Shanahan being stuck with this turkey. I think it's time to bring up Callahan to play with him if Prucha isn't going to get it.

Hossa play well for what he is. He may not be a big point getter, but he can play solid forechecking hockey. And can surely handle the puck well. Ya never know, someday he may get the scoring touch.
