I had the pleasure of attending the Suffolk boys soccer awards dinner at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook on Monday. There I saw talented players and coaches receive well deserved awards while enjoying a delicious chicken cutlet parmesan meal. The event was well run and Lou Hanner and his association should be praised for its organization.

How nice to see Newsday list the outstanding scholastic soccer players in Section 8 and 11 on their website! Now, if they could provide this information in print in their paper next year it would be terrific.
It is fantastic these boys and their coaches have been recognized for their accomplishments. Perhaps next year it would be nice if the girls were recognized as well. As there were this year, there will be many talented ladies and their coaches worthy of the same level of recognition.
