Hey everyone, we're here at SUNY Cortland for all the action of today's girls lacrosse state semifinals. The first matchup of the day is the Class B battle between Garden City and Niskayuna (Section II).
Garden City came out strong, scoring the first six goals en route to a 9-2 halftime lead. Becky Lynch leads the way with three goals and two assists.
Garden City looks like a good bet to advance to its fourth straight state title game.

Here at Cortland, the semifinals are played on adjacent fields at the same time. On the other field, Brighton (V) leads Carthage (III) 7-3 at the half.
UPDATE: The rout was on in the second half, as Garden City scored the first six goals out of the break and took a 17-4 victory. Garden City has now hit the 20-win plateau for the third straight season.
The Trojans will play Brighton, a 10-6 victor over Carthage, in tomorrow's final at 9:30 a.m.
Garden City defeated Brighton in last year's state semifinal and the teams played in the 2005 and 2006 final. Brighton won in 05 and Garden City won in 06.
