Sports Webcasting Network (www.sportswebnet.com) has added The High School Lacrosse Game of the Week, an eight game regular season package, which will feature Long Island's top teams to its spring schedule.The internet based media company launched its exclusive high school lacrosse coverage this past Thursday, April 17, when Smithtown West hosted Northport. The game, which is still available on-demand, has already received praise for its coverage.
Other confirmed dates include Holy Trinity @ St. Anthony's on Tuesday, April 29, Sayville @ Huntington on Tuesday, May 6, Darien @ Manhasset on Thursday, May 08, West Islip @ Smithtown West on Tuesday, May 13, Cold Spring Harbor @ Manhasset on Wednesday, May 14 and Ward Melville @ Sachem East on Thursday, May 15. Sports Webcasting Network is still in negotiations to add playoff action to the schedule.
"High School Lacrosse is a big addition to our schedule," said play-by-play announcer and SWN's Director Rob Goldenberg. "There has been a tremendous growth in terms of lacrosse's popularity nationally, and there is no question that Long Island is a hotbed for talent. For us it is a great opportunity to take advantage of the fact that we have an audience calling out for more coverage," he said.
