Meet Gregg Sarra

Gregg Sarra, 46, has worked at Newsday for the past 21 years. He has won numerous sportswriting awards and been cited by various officials and coaches associations for his reporting. He was voted the New York High School Sportswriter of the Year in 2002, 2003 and 2005. He is a member of the Dowling College athletic Hall of Fame, the Men's Senior Baseball Hall of Fame and the Long Island Flag Football Hall of Fame for his many successes on a national level on the diamond and the gridiron.

How come there is no mention to the kids representing Long Island football in the NY/NJ All Star game. And I dont mean a blog I mean a article in the newspaper you write for. Long Island football is in the dark ages. It is a joke compared to the rest of the country. And it is not because the talent is not there. Its because the powers that be dont want it to grow. Maybe you can explain to me why a school can go to San Diego to play a lacrosse game but Floyd cant play St Anthony's in a non league game. This is a big issue. You have the power to stir the pot.
