SJB ranked nationally

BY ADAM RONIS

St. John the Baptist broke into the USA Today Super 25 for the first time this season and is ranked No. 13 in the latest rankings. St. John the Baptist is 24-4 and won the CHSAA AA state championship for the second consecutive season after defeating Molloy (Queens), 42-28, on Saturday. St. John the Baptist beat then-No. 8 St. Michael Academy (Manhattan), 63-49, in the semifinals.

St. John the Baptist will play the winner of Bergtraum (23-0), ranked No. 2 in the country, and Rush-Henrietta (Section V) in the Federation championship on Sunday March 30. SJB beat Bergtraum in 2004 when Rutgers' Epiphanny Prince was on the team.
