Herricks pulls off thriller over Syosset

The wild night in girls hoops continues. Herricks eked out a 59-58 win over Syosset. Herricks has built its program up and starts all four-year seniors. This could be its only opportunity in the near future to make a deep run.
Herricks has lost in the Nassau Class AA quarterfinals the last two years. Herricks came into the season seeded sixth, but is 3-2 against the top 5 seeds. Still, Herricks can't be seeded higher than sixth in a bizarre system that needs tweaking.
Herricks trailed most of the game and was being outplayed thoroughly in the second quarter. Herricks used a 22-12 fourth quarter to prevail.
