Hello everyone. After watching Elmont defeat Hewlett, 28-7, in the Conference II final, I am back for more. This time, I am here for the Conference IV final between Roosevelt and Seaford.
I don’t think you will find a more evenly match game. Both teams played well throughout the season and when they met on Oct. 18, Seaford won 7-6, thanks to Ryan Metas’ fumble recovery and 30-yard return with 41 seconds left to play.
It goes without saying that Roosevelt (9-1) is looking to avenge its only loss. Don’t expect a high scoring game here. The Rough Riders will rely on their running game -- led by Jalon Edwards, James McClenic and QB Korye Hollingsworth -- and so will Seaford (10-0). Expect Nick Barbuto, who has rushed for more than 1,400 yards, to carry the load for the Vikings.

10:02 Seaford started at the 12. Nick Barbuto gained 4 on second down and 2 more on third down. On 4th-and-2 at the 20, Seafod went for it and Barbuto was stopped. Roosevelt takes over with great field position.

5:35 Seaford's Billy Kempner 10-yard catch brought the Vikings to the 44. Then his 8-yard catch brought the team to the Roosevelt 46. QB Chris Rigoli is looking good.
1:40 Barbuto picked up 2 on first down. Two plays later, Joe Fallarino picked up another first down, gaining 6 to the 39. ... On 3rd-and-8, Rigoli was dumped by Taliek Tayor. It was a loss of 5-yards. Seaford was stopped on 4th and long.
0:10 Roosevelt's James McClenic was stopped for a loss of 2, setting up second down at the 28. On the next play, Hollingsworth was sacked.

11:53 Roosevelt went for it on 4th and got nothing. Seaford takes over at the Roosevelt 25.
10:27 On 2nd and 11 at the 15, Rigoli missed Pat Lasher in the end zone, then missed Mike Gallo in the same spot -- right side of the end zone. But on 4th and 4 at the 8, Rigoli hit Kempner with a TD pass. Seaford 7, Roosevelt 0.
10:24 Seaford went for an onside kick and nearly recovered it, but the ball squirted out of bounds. Roosevelt has the ball at its own 35.
9:28 On 3rd and 11 at the 34, Hollingsowrth pass went incomplete and the Rough Riders were forced to punt.

4:23 Barbuto gained 7 on second down, setting up 3rd and 3 at the 24. Three plays later, Barbuto brought it to the 15 for a first. Three plays later on 4th down, Barbuto picked up another first on a 2-yard gain to keep the drive alive. Seaford is on the 5. Roosevelt called a timeout.

The story of the first half is Roosevelt’s inability to move the ball. They have -6 yards on offense. Meanwhile Nick Barbuto ran for 59 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Rigoli was 5-of-12 for 48 yards and a TD to Billy Kempner.

11:01 Hollingsworth scored on a 5-yard run and was stopped on the two-point conversion. Seaford 15, Roosevelt 6.
10:01 Seaford got the ball at its 20. Barbuto went for no gain on first down. But then Rigoli hit Gallo with a 70-yard pass to set up 1st and 10 at the 1. Barbuto ran it in for the score. The Vikings went 80 yards in 3 plays. Extra point was no good. Seaford 21, Roosevelt 6
