Good evening and welcome to Hofstra’s Shuart Stadium as Plainedge and Bethpage are set to square off for the Nassau Conference III championship. The last time these two teams played, Bethpage plowed for 361 yards on the ground en route to a convincing 42-12 win on Oct. 11. If Bethpage (9-1), which defeated Wantagh 28-7 in the semifinal, is going to win again, Kevin Glueckert and Joe Miceli will need to have big games running the ball.
Expect Plainedge (8-2), which beat Lawrence 27-14 in the semifinal, to put up a better fight this time around. The Red Devils have been playing really well as of late. They have won their last four games (by at least two touchdowns) and are led by QB Mike Rossi and a trio of talented runners: Nick Camera, Kevin Kennedy and A.J. Fusco.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Both teams are warming up now and doing their best to stay warm. Will be back with updates throughout the game.
Update: Bethpage will receive the ball first. Kickoff is just underway.
6:28 Bethpage started at the 16-yard line and keep in on the ground the entire drive. Kevin Glueckert broke off a 50-yard run before getting dragged down at the 9.
