Dashiem Cherry's three-pointer with 1:04 left in the game gave Malverne the 73-71 lead and proved the be the deciding factor in the Class B Semifinal against Ogdensburg.
The Mules sunk three foul shots in the final seconds to provide the final margin.
Malverne had trailed by as much as 15 towards the end of the first before unloading for 26 in the third. Cherry led all scorers with 28 points and seven rebounds. Justin Williams added 14. Ogdensburg's Gene Bouyer carried his team with 22 points and six rebounds.
Malverne will play Olean tomorrow at 9 p.m.
