Another Beamon sighting...

BY MARCUS HENRY

It was another big night for Roslyn junior George Beamon as he scored 40 in his team's 75-64 win over East Rockaway on Friday. The high point totals will lead some to believe he's just a chucker who has never met a shot he didn't like. But with Beamon it's more than just the points. He had eight rebounds and eight steals to go with the 40. Complete efforts like that often go unnoticed when a player scores a ton of points.

Is Beamon for real? I think so. Hopefully basketball fans will look at Beamon for more than just the scoring. He's a 6-3 jumping jack who can rebound and play defense. It's early, but you can't start to talk about All-Island players without including Beamon.
