Meet Marcus Henry

Marcus Henry began working for Newsday’s city edition in April 2003. He’s been a part of the Newsday high school/local college sports desk since then, covering both Long Island and New York City high schools. He has also covered the WNBA’s New York Liberty the past two seasons. Prior to coming to Newsday he spent four years working for PA SportsTicker, a real time sports newswire service. Marcus has also freelanced for the New York Amsterdam News, College and Pro Football Weekly, and the National Sports Weekly. In addition to his work on the local desk, Marcus is also a huge boxing fan. He has covered several fights for Newsday, including the Oscar De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather fight and the recent Miguel Cotto-Shane Mosley battle.

Marcus:
You mentioned in your 12/20 article that Long Island Lutheran was the last team from Long Island to win the Class A Boys Federation Basketball Title. It was actually St. Anthony's in 2005. Thought you should know.

Actually, the info mentioned in the article is correct. St. Anthony's was the last team from L. I. to win the Class A Federation Title, but they did not win at the highest level. In 1997, when Lutheran won the Class A title, Class AA did not yet exist, so Class A was the highest.

Huntington is now 7-5 in league V after winning at home last night.Friday night they travel to East Hampton to play the mighty Bonackers.I hope Newsday makes this game their feature for the evening.Huntington by the way was 2-5 on Jan 18th and they have reeled off 5 in a row and secured a playoff spot.

What is the current score (GHS vs. Chat.)?
