West Islip - Commack suspended

BY MARCUS HENRY

Due to inclement weather Game 3 of the Suffolk Class AA baseball final between second-seeded West Islip and No. 4 Commack was suspended.

The game will resume on Monday at 4 p.m. with host West Islip leading 11-5 with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

It was all West Islip as Nick Tropeano was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Patrick Cantwell reached base three times and scored three runs. Commack starter Ryan Pfaeffle, who pitched in relief of Friday's 6-5 win, was ineffective Saturday as he got tagged for seven runs and eight hits over two-plus innings.

Tropeano, West Islip's Game 1 winnner, will pitch on Monday. Commack coach Ed Boll hasn't made up his mind on his pitcher.
