Adam and Jana, seeing Clemson six spots ahead of your hokies must make your blood boil!

Paul, ASU at 16? I think your program will prove a lot of these coaches wrong this year. And Oregon all the way back at 20?

WVU at eight? So many non-believers!

Mike, PSU at 22? Behind the Illini and only two spots ahead of a broken Michigan program? Ouch!

Conference observation: The Big 12 has five slots in the "Top 14"!
No Notre Dame?

This years surprises:

Cincinnati
Pitt
Tennessee
Oregon State

Black N Gold,

Penn State's ranking is about where I figured.

With the quarterback position still uncertain (Daryll Clark or Pat Devlin), I didn't expect a high ranking.

Paul, I'm re-positioning USC in my preseason rankings. You're right -- they should be higher. More to come when Adam and I officially release our rankings.

Have a nice weekend all,

MR

Don't mind. 15 might even be a little high for VT.

Clemson has a fantastic team...but can they get over the hill and win all of the big ball games on their schedule? Honestly, the Week 1 game against Bama won't even be a good indication.

The Big 12 is a fantastic conference again...and Texas isn't even at full-strength (it will be next year, I believe).

I'm done talking about rankings until my poll comes out.

B&G,

I am not so sure they belong much higher than that...they have three new starters on the OL. I know they were second in the country in sacks allowed behind Tennessee, so it may be good or bad that that is the case, but until they get on the field...

Mike, I appreciate the comment, but you are entitled to your opinion, regardless of what it is...if we all agreed this would be boring.

PSU debuts at #22 with a team loaded with seniors. This is how much damage JoePa hanging around has done.

B&G, Oregon will be breaking in a new QB this year, so...that is probably why they are at 20.
