Taryne Mowatt.
Those two words are being typed in Google searches quite often the last few days. The blonde bombshell with the cannon of a right arm is facing off with fellow pitcher's circle dominator Monica Abbott of Tennessee for the college softball world series tonight. If you like strikeouts, tune in to this on ESPN2.
One of my loyal readers wanted to know why girls were logging on and wishing Taryne well. I thought about it for a few minutes. Perhaps this is becoming her fan club? I'm certainly a fan, as made clear in a post a few nights ago. Maybe after she finishes up her softball tournament, I'll talk to her and let her know about her fans' new place of gathering: Campus Confidential.
Maybe I can talk her into flying out to New York and going to a ball game with me. Maybe her boyfriend, C.J. Ziegler of the Arizona baseball team, will take a 32-ounce TPX and mash my face in. Maybe it's worth the risk.
Taryne and I have a lot in common. She's a communications major; I work in the communications business. She wants to be a doctor; I'm not afraid of doctors, I like doctors. Her dad's name is Larry; I'm going to New Orleans this weekend with a guy named Larry who's a long-time friend. She enjoys sleeping; I happen to LOVE sleeping. She enjoys shopping; I like going out and buying nice things for myself as well. The list goes on…

Taryne Mowatt was amazing! She played with the heart of a champion and never ever gave up. She should be proud of herself and know that the Wildcat Nation loves her!

The young woman is good, no 2 ways about it......I'm from Alabama, but thanks to Taryne Mowatt, and the rest of the Arizona softball team...I have become a fan of that sport. Me and my buddies watched the Wildcats through almost the whole playoffs. They first got our attention when we were watching some highlights of a game and we saw, I think it was Caitlin slamming into the wall, chasing a fly ball, bloodying her face and then coming back into the game a little later (cudos to her); my b-day is Feb. 4th, just two days before hers (Aquarius's rule). Then we watched all three games of the Championship and I can honestly say we are all 3 huge U of A womens softball fans for life now. Taryne and the gang played superb, like true Champions do. Callista and Taryne are my modern day heroins, like a female Batman and Robin. Congatulations Lady Wildcats, you all did wonderful including the coaching staff. I would DJ any party any time any place for you ladies. P.S. My friend Alex wants to take Adrienne out on a date and I am "stary eyed" in love with Taryne. One can always wish, hope and dream!
Taryne: you star! It was so fun watching the games in which you played. What a wonderful smile, tenacious competitiveness, and COURAGE to pitch on and fight against such a tough-looking situation with the UT pitcher on the hill against you.... YAY for winning the whole thing! I don't even care about UofA, but you got my attention and made me a fan! I had to change my life schedule for a week, in order to not miss a single inning! I know that you can get red, blue, and gold headbands off the USA softball website. I know there must be some other places, though. The A&M softball team wore silver ones during the world series. If anyone knows where to get these, could you email me?
