The Jets this afternoon signed free agent kicker Mark Myers, formerly of the CFL and before that a standout at Florida Atlantic University. At Florida Atlantic from 2001-04, Myers set 17 school records, going 43-for-59 in field goals. Never can have enough kickers in camp. Also, to clarify the 80-men-to-a-roster rule, draft picks don't count against the roster until they have officially signed, meaning with the addition of Myers, the Jets current roster size is 75.

This might be complete BS, but I've heard that some kickers are capable of kicking the ball into the end zone from a tee placed on the thirty yard line. I don't suppose this Myers character is capable of such a feat ...

I figured I would coin the phrase "Baker-Gate" to lighten-up the usual "Blogger" Bashing that goes on. Apparently there HAS to be relevant exciting news ALL the time about the Jets or you suck at your job. Good thing us Jets fans aren't caught up in the 24/7 media craze, right?!
Maybe you should mix in a post about Brittany Spears' new tattoo of a female body part, on her female body part. That should keep them off your back.
By the way, just in case you have the time - I have been trying to get someone who isn't as lazy as I to do an analysis proving the first 8 games of a QB's Career should suck - (Clemens, Peyton, Eli, Aikman etc...), especially when they have a dysfunctional offensive line. I feel like most of the media and fans are not giving KC a fair shot, they need to see who else they would of started Chad over.
DKnyj, Clemens went 28-of-39 for 352 yards, 4 TDs & 2 INTs in training camp last year. He should be much better this year and should beat out Chad for the starting job.
Very few QBs have come right into the league and excelled right away. Some have, but not the majority. I don't think we should be so quick to judge KC with last year's O-line.
DKnyj, in regard to the Britney Spears tattoo stuff, there's a great Web site...well, never mind, I guess. Cablevision, not News Corp, bought Newsday. Anyway, I'll post those quarterback numbers in the morning. Sometime before noon, just for Darrell.
DK's got the right idea...too many people are focusing on what Clemens did taking over the sinking ship last year in a offense that was built for a different QB. Not to mention receivers who were used to powder puff tosses not the rifle arm that Clemens has. Pennington would really have to show some zip and some accuracy down field for me to want him again. I was all for him getting the job way back when, but we're a handful of shoulder surgeries later and I know Chad's driving to practice everyday listening to Journey and one of these days its just going to fade to black...
