No Brown spot on the Jets

We asked earlier in the day if the Jets should be interested in WR Troy Brown, who will not be back with the Pats this season after 15 years with the team. Well, it seems that even if the Jets are interested, Brown won't play for them.

John Tomase of the Boston Herald has blogged that Brown has made it clear he will not play for a team that the Patriots are scheduled to play against in 2008. So he certainly wouldn;t want to play against them twice.

Just a thought that's completely off the topic, but I noticed that Detroit just cut DE Kalimba Edwards. I could be wrong but at 6-6, 265, I think he would be a perfect fit as on outside LB in the 3-4. Edwards seems like another guy, just like Calvin Pace, who was a high draft pick and was miscast in a 4-3 defense. With his strength, size and speed he could fit nicely on the outside and you could easily compare him to a guy like Vernon Gholston (6-4,255) who the Jets are rumored to be very interested in drafting. I'm not sure what the deal is with Edwards money or how much he's looking for, but I would rather sign him and draft someone else at #6.

G, It's funny how the Jets and Lions have defensive linemen better suited for each others' schemes. Last year I went around saying that we should have traded D-Rob for Shaun Rogers straight up and people laughed. Now it seems like a move that would have made some sense. Water under the bridge I guess...

Overall I'm happy with the moves that have been made so far, but we need a starting quality CB and more bodies at OLB as well as a big, speedy receiver which would be the icing on the cake. With all the FA dollars that have already been spent though, it looks like those moves will have to be made via the draft for the most part.

who cares???? he sucks!!!
