Well, this is my 17th and -- Faneca willing -- final blog post of the day. In fact, it's the 17th in just about 11 and a half hours. Whew.
I know it's not in the realm of Glauber and Best who try to out-do each other by hitting 30 or so posts in a day, but I think 17 is pretty good. Not to mention, they have the entire world to write about. I went 17 posts all about the Jets, without once posting a picture of a urinal.

I understand that nothing is complete until the contract is signed, but you have to believe that Alan Faneca has to be "really" close with the NY Jets. I just don't believe one media outlet after another would say they are close when nothing isn't close to be completed.
Nice effort, TR.
btw, no need to only do Jets' stuff in blog. Feel free to chime in on urinal etiquette. Sam Zell encourages us to think outside the box.
Rumor has it that Faneca really wants to sign with Arizona and is waiting to see if they could come up with the extra cap room by either trading Larry Fitzgerald or restructuring his deal. Lets hope this rumor is not true.
That's a rumor from Phoenix talk-radio, and put out on JI... not very credible.
This seems more credible... http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/110288
Mornin' Tom... hope ya had a restful night.
One question, if I may... what was the actual compensation deal, we received in the Pete Kendall deal??
As it always is, I'm seeing all kinds of stuff posted all over Jetslandistan, and thought you might be able to clarify the deal.
Thanks, merci, and gracias, too!
I hope your right Burf, that East Valley Trib story seems to be more on point with what's actually going on.
I could be wrong, but I thought we got either a 5th or 6th rounder for Kendall in this years draft, depending on how much he played for Washington last year.
I heard we get a 4th this year, or a 5th, or a 6th, or a 4th next year... or a 5th, etc, ad nauseum.
That's why I'd like to know what it really is ;)
It was a 5th in 08 or a 4th in 09, depending on PK's PT. He hit the incentives, and the Jets get Wash's 4th rd pick next year.
Burf and others: DC J F is right. They'll get a 4th in 2009. Had Kendall played less than 80 percent of the plays it would have been a 5th in 08, but the Skins had already traded away their 08 4th so it went to 09.
Thanks, DC & TR!
That's a strange compensation scenario, because on draft charts, those picks would be equal.
Of course, I've never really seen the logic in that calculation.
Next year, the 4th pick will be worth a 4th pick.
The only difference, is that we'll have to pay more for it.
Isn't there still a pick coming from the Vikings for Bollinger?
hey tom i dont kno if u read this sh** but how can u give us 17 posts the first day and 0 the second day?. damn do ur job....u said earlier that theres so much 2 talk about and u give us nothing....no updates this entire day. cmon.
Mike: Unfortunately "Day 2 of the Rest of our Jets" didn't have much juice until Mr. Faneca made his decision. Not much to update before that. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything on Calvin Pace or Randall Gay or that other guys from New England. What's his name, Moss?
Well, one of the stated reasons why the Jets moved to Giants Stadium was for better bathrooms. So, you would be well within your rights to post a picture of a urinal.....
