I've heard and read it mentioned a few times here and on other boards, and now that we're on the precipice of history, I thought I'd ask you fans what you think.
Here's the situation: The Jets could (a very big could considering what I'm about to say) be the team that loses to the Dolphins, thus ending their imperfect season, and then beats the Patriots, ending their perfect season. Both teams could finish with either one win or one loss, both of them against the Jets.
That's just the kind of inconsistency that would drive consistency-minded Mangini over the edge. But what's your thinking?
Can the Jets pull off that kind of history-spoiling exacta?
Perhaps more to the point, as a Jets fan, would you buy that series of events if you could right now? It would mean sticking it to the Pats, but it would also mean handing one to the hapless Phins. Two big rivals to consider.
Let's hear it.

I'd rather see the Jets finish with the same W-L record as the Giants, which is still mathematically possible.
Barring that, I'll settle for us just beating Bellichick and Herm.
No, no, no, Tom ... I NEED the Jets to beat the Dolphins and keep hope alive for an 0-16 season. It's absolutely the only thing that's kept me going during this dismal year.
We may be horrible ... but if the Dolphins go winless, I'll celebrate as though we won the Super Bowl (well ... um ... at least as though we finished .500 ... yeah!)
Or they could just lose both games and relieve my 1996 team as the worse Jets team ever (not an easy thing to accomplish considering their history).
I love the Jets - but you're smoking something if you think they have a chance to lose to the Pats by less the 10 points. The spread will probably be 30. Forget about winning the game, it's up there with winning a lottery jackpot twice in a week.
I could promise you that Jets will indeed beat the Patriots. I have a reliable source that guarantees that victory.
I kid you not. BELIEVE.
Anything is worth wiping that smug smile off of Brady's face.
The Jets should do their part in helping the Pats win. They're gonna in by at least 30 if we play hard, we might as well drop passes on purpose, punt on 2nd down, commit penalties on purpose, etc. Make the game a joke.
Please sell the team, Woody, you clueless fool!
Seattle Jets Fan, I wish it were true, nothing would make me happier. Like so much to do with the Jets - you 'could' promise, but alas..
T-Rock, you are right on the money with what I've been saying for several weeks now. It would be typical Jets to be Miami's only win and New England's only loss. I can feel it as if it's in the stars and the planets are aligning for just such a chain of events. Do I want the Jets to win this week -- of course -- so I hope I'm only half-right, but we'll see.
Maybe if I was playing!
I'd love to see the Dolphins go 0-16 - but would trade that in a second for a win over the Patriots. Could you imagine what the postgame handshake would look like? Can you visualize Belichick's face as the final seconds ticked off? It would make this entire miserable season worthwhile...

you much be on crack dude. Beat the pats... ha ha ha ha ha ha ! As well the Dolphins will mop the floor with them today. j-e-t-s suck suck suck
If Jets lose, get rid of Mangidiot, that boring, emotionless fool!
Good call, Milt.
Hey Milt, who wiped the floor with whom?
