I'm a Jets fan and I'm thankful for ...

HandTurkey.jpgBy Tom Rock

Well, let's hear it fans. What are you thankful for? There's not a lot in this 2-8 season, but what sticks out in your mind?

Are you thankful for the move to Kellen Clemens? Thankful that you only face the Patriots twice? Thankful that you face the Dolphins twice? There must be something.

I'll be checking in during the holiday to see where we're at. And on Thursday I'll be posting the inactives and blogging some scene-setters from the Big D. Happy Thanksgiving to all our loyal readers, and even those who aren't so loyal. I know who you are.

I'm thankful we play in our own stadium... NOT.
I'm thankful we drafted D'Brick instead of... NOT.
I'm thankful Pete Kendall is still the anchor... NOT.
I'm thankful Kellen kept the starting job after Baltimore... NOT.
I'm thankful Tangini was as aggresive in free agency this past year as Pioli and Bele-cheat... NOT.
And I'm Im thankful that we will all witness the NFL's first 100 point spread on Dec 16th... TRUTH!

Now pass the turkey and I dont mean Mangenius.

Been a Jet fan way too long... Happy Turkey

Dallas 34 Jets 14

I'm thankful that the Jets had enough pride to send 40K+ Steeler fans home crying into their little towels. Imagine driving 7 hours to see your team lose to the 1-8 Jets. I loved heckling Steeler fans. When they were about to make a comeback, I would say "What are you going to tell me, that the Jets suck? Hahahaha"... good times that day.

Im thankfull that at least these guys seem to know how to draft. Sure FErguson isnt as good as his pick dictated, but we all knew he needed to put weight on and he is a legit starter. . The draft still yeilded Mangold A plus, Clemens plus another second rounder A plus. Shlegal F. Washington and Smith in the later rounds. Not bad. Revis and Harris are the real deal as well. Washington will be our starting RB in two years. In my mind th JEts have added 6 legit starters in two years, do the math and see what two more years do for you.

If the JEts can get a legit run stuffer in FA they can add an OLB who can rush the passer in round 1 and fix the O line in rounds two and three.

this team is closer then youi think

I'm thankful New England is still undefeated, so the Jets can be the ones to ruin their perfect season in a few weeks!

As a Jets fan I am used to looking forward because "THIS" year is never quite good enough. So I am thankful that for next few year we have:
Kellen Clemens
Thomas Jones
Leon Washington
Laveranues Coles
Chris Baker
Jericho Cotchery
Nick Mangold
D'Brickashaw ( oh, ok just a BIT thankful)
David Harris
Darrelle Revis
Kerry Rhodes
Mike Nugent
and possibly backup Chad Pennington.
So the future doesn't seem so bad. We need a few more players, a pass rushing terror and a big body in the middle would be nice on defense. And a new offensive coordinator would be nice for the offense.
Here's to next year!
Happy Holidays.

I'm thankful for the mute button on the remote so I can digest my turkey. Have a good holiday, Everyone and a safe trip to Dallas, T-Rock.

Thankful for Harris, Revis, Mangold, Clemens, Leon, Cotchery, Coles, K Coleman, Rhodes.

Very thankful for the Jets win over the Steelers, can tell all my Pittsburgh buddies to stick it.

Thankful it was on NFL Replay last nite, so I can continuing to enjoy it.

Thankful Mangini is our coach (still). He'll get us right next year.

Don't eat too much, Tom!

I'm thankful this is a rebuilding year because, honestly, it would be a major disappointment to see the Patriots lose the Superbowl this year. So why bother putting a quality team on the field this year anyway.

I'm thankful that I get to watch Gang Green while having a beer in one hand and a fat, juicy drumstick in the other.

Unfortunately, hardly anything to be thankful for this season, but here goes:

1. Leon Washington - Legit chance to break a long return every time he touches the ball. Notice how Steelers kicked off short all game long but then got burned near the end on that punt return. Jets MVP so far this year.

2. Compared to what the Patriots have done to the rest of the league, that 38-14 loss doesn't look quite as brutal. The worst thing about that game was "Spygate" because it pissed the Patriots off royally, and despite a loss of a draft choice, they still got the 49ers 1st rounder, which looks like a Top 3 pick. Beautiful.

Anyway, I'm thankful I have a great wife and kids!

Thankful for Revis and Harris and Clemens and Mangold, something to make it interesting the rest of the way.

As far as the Jets, that is all I can possibly be thankful for this year.

THAT THERE IS ONLY 16 GAMES!
