The bye week just got three hours longer

The NFL has flexed its flex-schedule flexibility and has decided to start the Nov. 18 game between the Jets and the Steelers at 4:05 p.m. instead of 1 p.m. Make note of that, all you Jets season-ticket holders, because when you sell your stubs for this game you should at least have the courtesy to let the Pittsburgh fan you are dealing with know about the change.

That does, in fact, give the Jets a little extra time to prepare for Big Ben and his gang of Steelers. The Jets have their bye on Nov. 11. But it could have a negative impact on the Jets, who were already staring at an impossibly short upcoming week. After the Steelers game on Sunday they will have Monday and Tuesday to get ready for the Cowboys, then travel to Dallas on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving Day game (a 4:15 p.m. start).

This is startling on two accounts. First, 4 o'clock games stink from a writing point of view because all of the sidebars and notebooks and Q&As we do bump right against deadline. And second, it's startling to realize that Thanksgiving is in less than a month.

This organization is such a joke and it all starts with Mangini, who to say is having a solphmore slump would be an understatement. Once he ratted out Belichick, he lost respect all acorss the league. If it wasn't for Belichick, no one would ven know who Mangini is today and this is how he pays his mentor back?!?!

Now Mangini still sticks with Chad, despite Chad being, what, 11-12 since Mangini has been here? Chad is done and Kellen needs to play already!!!

Jeff,

You're either a Pats fan or an idiot to say he "ratted him out and lost respect across the league". Come on! Tell us which. We're all wanting to know.......

"Either a Pats fan or an idiot"

Quite often one and the same since the Pats won a couple of Super Bowls, don't you think?

Why was this change made???? Because of the NFL television rules, we were only going to get 2 games telecast into NY that day...we were going to see Jets Pitt at 1 PM and Giants Detroit at 4:15 PM (it is a Fox double header day and since the Jets are home on a day the network carrying their game does not have the double header, we don't get a third game into New York)...now basically all they've done is flip flop the Giants and Jets (along with the Dallas game...makes no sense as to why)....the Jet game is not a national game anyway as CBS is not carrying a double header that day.
