Ware: The truth will come out
Danny Ware seemed pretty confident today that he’ll be exonerated in his arrest over the weekend on a pair of alcohol-related charges in Athens, Ga.
“The truth is going to come out,” he said. “We just have to wait and see.”
Ware was arrested and charged with pedestrian while intoxicated and pedestrian in the roadway. More than a few eyewitnesses, however, have commented under articles in Georgia papers that Ware was the victim of an overzealous police officer and while he was intoxicated – he reportedly admitted to drinking and had a 0.152 blood-alcohol content – he was simply in the street trying to wave down a cab with a female companion who was also charged in the incident.
Ware said he has not been fined or handed any type of punishment from the Giants.
“I think they’re all behind me,” he said of the organization. “Whatever happens, I think they’re gonna stick behind me 100 percent. We just have to wait to see what happens.”
Ware’s case will go to court sometime later this month, he said.
He also said he has not yet been contacted by the NFL in regard to any possible personal-conduct policy violation. He has, however, alerted everyone who needs to know about the situation.
