Mario undergoing tests
It's never good when a receiver can't hold onto the ball. It may be worse when he can't hold down his food. That's apparently the case for Mario Manningham, who Coughlin told us has been vomiting and has thus been sent to a local hospital for tests to see what's wrong. He's expected back at the stadium sometime today. He wasn't on the field for the early stages of practice that we witnessed
Also, there was some movement on the depth chart as it seems Jonathan Goff was playing second-string strongside linebacker behind Danny Clark. DeOssie had been taking those reps in previous weeks. We might very well see Goff on the field this Sunday.
Finally, before we head to the locker room and avoid Manningham's locker like, well, the plague, Coughlin had a funny line about the schedule and his thoughts on whether he'd like to play more divisional games early in the season, or at least have them spread out with more balance.
"My position is always, behind closed doors to myself when I see the schedule, I say and do whatever I feel and then I accept the position that there is not a whole lot I can do about it, so let's play it as it is dealt."
Love to be a fly on that wall.
