Defense by the numbers

Justin Tuck may not want to compare last year's defense to this year's, but that won't stop us from doing it. Here are the numbers based on the first two weeks of each season courtesy of giants.com:

Can you do an analysis of the Giants defense during last year's playoffs and the defense now? It was obvious to everyone that the players hadn't fully grasped Spags' schemes yet in those first two games.

Be careful when you compare the two years. The Rams and 'Skins are not the elite teams of the NFC nor do they come close to comparing to the 2007 Cowboys and Packers teams whose offenses were much more prolific.
