Just strolled in from practice and as we're coming through the tunnel a cart buzzes past us. Not unusual. In the driver's seat was Jeff Feagles. Again, not unusual. But in the passenger seat was Lawrence Tynes. It seemed as if they were heading onto the field to do some kicking. Hmmm.
Tynes was very active at practice today, doing some running and some phantom kicks. He was also on the side with an ice pack on his left knee. So it's hard to tell if he'll be ready for Thursday. Carney was doing the kicking at practice when they were working on coverages and returns.
Speaking of kicking, a funny sight at practice as several staffers tried to put together what looked like a new punting net for Feagles. Apparently this thing was from IKEA because it came in lots of pieces that didn't seem to jive. It was quite an exercise, and when they finally had the thing upright, well, after Feagles' third kick into it it nearly collapsed on him. One time Feagles almost got his foot stuck in the netting. If this was a tryout for a new net, I think the Giants plan to pass.
Hixon practiced today. Goff was out there with the team during some of the segments, too, and was doing some running on the side. Terrell Thomas did some light running too.
Coughlin in about half an hour, then locker room. If it's anything like a usual Friday, the players will be available for about 10 minutes before they sprint out the door. Remember, this is Friday.
