I'm very saddened and embarrassed to report that I missed a play. That's right, at the end of the second series of 11-on-11 snaps, I was having a discussion with one of the very helpful Giants interns and the next thing I know, the whistle blows and the series is over and I missed the play. My first one on the beat, including minicamp.
Also, David Diehl did not practice for the first time since high school. That's the other streak. Adam Koets and Guy Whimper rotated in his spot at LT with the starters.
Other injuries included Lawrence Tynes, who jammed his foot, and Derrick Ward and Amani Toomer, both of whom have knee injuries that required them to vosot the team's doctors. Danny Ware took Ward's reps. Osi was out too (one-a-day) and Tollefson started at DE. Newcomer Antonio Reynolds was sidelined too, which didn't seem to make Tom Coughlin very happy. "Eighteen plays and he's out," the coach said. "Not good." R.W. McQuarters will rejoin the team tonight after the birth of his daughter.
