Game preview -- why don't we pass the time by playing a little solitaire?
I am watching The Manchurian Candidate right now, which is among the awesomest movies ever made. This would be the original, Sinatra-Laurence Harvey-Angela Lansbury version. And it kicks butt.
Somehow, I feel Belichick has made a deal with someone the way Angela Lansbury did with the Commies in this movie.
Anyway.
Pats 28, Giants 13
Here's why:
-- The Pats are good. Seems you don't get to 15-0 these days without some decent players. The Giants have faced a couple good offenses this season -- notably the Cowboys and Packers -- and those offenses have done well, despite the Giants steadily improving D.
-- The Giants offense has been... Bad is the wrong word, but not as good as could be. Unless the Giants pound the running game, which I steadfastly believe they will not do because guys get hurt that way -- witness Brandon Jacobs' myriad injuries and Ahmad Bradshaw's bruised leg. So Eli will try to throw some and mix it up, but I don't think they will find much rhythm.
-- The starters will be gone by the third quarter. I think TC is playing a little game with everyone. Yes, the Giants will try to win -- and guys like Chase Blackburn and Jay Alford and Dave Tollefson will try very hard, because they never get to play -- but they will not try needlessly, especially after the Pats pull ahead.
This, I believe, allows the Giants to save face. TC can tell them they played hard, everyone got a shot to play and they did the smart thing, which was rest for a half. And the Pats get a very anticlimactic 16-0, which takes a little of the joy from that, I'd say.
And the minute this nonsense ends, the Giants will be focused and ready for Tampa.

Prediction: I have no idea, will be rooting for the Giants nonetheless
I think the Pats are a bit overrated, I know they have all those records, or close to the records, but they almost lost to two medicore teams, Eagles and Ravens. You have the Eagles a team that we swept, and the Ravens the team that gave Miami there first and possibly only win. There bound to loss sometime soon
Would be kind of funny if we won, and would have that spolier title on us (referring to upset victory over Denver in 98). It still a long shot, but the formula is pretty simple: Run the ball, stop the run and apply QB pressure.
You know with the records in sight, Brady is just going to be looking for Moss, so double/triple team him, possibly make Brady force some balls and get some turnovers, he does tend to stare down his recievers, especially Moss.
Think the starters will play a half, and see where the game is there, if its out of reach, they will pull the starters.
Should be intresting, wondering if the Pats will pull Brady if they keep seeing the D-Line in his face, probably not, but thats playing with fire
I was wondering today...What ever happend to Brandon Short and Carlos Emmons...we all know what happened to Arrington.....
and i happen to think it's destiny that we will play the Bucs in the first round...the bucs have a habbit of takeing lnog time Giants that the Giants dont want anymore. While Luke Pettigout is out for the year(That Jerry Reese is a genius I NEVER DOUBTED HIM!) Ike Hilliard will be in uniform to face his former team....a team that has changed ALOT since he left.
Besides Pettigout and Hilliard, Ronde Barber as we all know is Tikis brother....and I'm sure Tiki would like nothing more than his brother to get some revenge FOR HIM on the big mean coach on the Giants.
And if that wasn't enough for you...Steve Spagnulo was a coach under Jim Johnson in Philidelphia when Jeff Garcia played QB in Phili....Jeff Garcia has hurt us in the past, but maybe Spag's has some cheat notes like he did with Mcnabb.
also im eager to see Sam Madison and Joey Galloway go at it...battle of the old farts.
but as for the patriots.. i hope we win..but more importantly if anyone get hurts Coughlin is done 4.
With some Giants fan selling there tickets, this game might feel like an away game. Might be a good thing considering our road record
It might just "end where it begins"
Christmas is such a special season. It's that magic time of year when hearts are lighter and smiles are brighter. But no matter how many ways you cut it. Ain't no way Santa's gonna let the G-Men stuff the Patriots.
Patriots 24 Giants 3
Note 1 - Eli will toss 3 pics. In the 4th quarter, TC will put Lorentzen in the game. He will engineer a 10 play drive resulting in the face-saving field goal.
Note 2 - The Pats will be defeated, 35 to 16 in the AFC Title game by the San Diego Chargers. Tomlinson will rush for 2 TDs, catch 2 TDs and throw a TD. On the Patriot sideline, Randy Moss will be heard calling Tom Brady a "bitch."
