Ward to try and practice tomorrow

So he told me today... As I said in my earlier post, he's the fourth leading receiver with 24 catches. If it's true that Eli doesn't trust many of his receivers, he clearly trusts Ward. Jacobs has only seven catches this season.

As does Sinorice Moss, who told me that he's still being patient and trying to improve his chemistry with Eli in practices, where Moss runs all the plays in place of Burress.

"I feel like it's coming along," Moss said. "There's just going to be one of those games where things just happen, and then it'll take off. I have to keep showing the coaches that I'm open and I can make plays for this team."

Could someone refresh my memory? Did Moss train up here in the spring with Eli or was he down in Miami with the likes of Plax and Shockey most of the time? As a product of U of Miami, I would think he stayed there, but I thought I read somewhere he was up at the stadium in the spring...

I'm pretty sure he was here Winston. Him and Steve Smith did some work with Eli I think. But its disappointing that it still hasn't paid off.

Thanks for the info, Sid. I was getting at the same thing, hoping that maybe getting extra time in the spring meant more production in the fall. I wonder why Eli still doesn't throw it his way. Is he not getting up enough or what?

Totally agree with you Arthur, the Passing game needs to step up

Im pretty sure once the Giants get that third reciever slot (more likely Smith at this point compared to Moss) The passing game will be great. Just right now i think its about options

Half the time Plax is doubled team, Toomer doesnt seem to get open or something like that, Shockey is mainly blocking, still a great receiver though, and you have the #4 reciever is an injuried RB, something is wrong there.

One of the reasons Dallas, Patriots, and Colts (Before they got injuried, they look like last years giants) are so great, is because they have great playmakers in each of there recievers.

We all saw that in the Giants-Dallas game, we limited Dallas TE, and Owens ran all over us in the second half.

Giants just need a few more options, and have few drop balls, remember in one game (possible SF) the RB's combined for something like 6 drop balls, one was a clear walkin TD from Ward, but he dropped it

Oh and Eli is good with me, he might not be a great quarterback, maybe in the future, but he is an above average QB right now, hes moving the ball, more confinedent, think third in NFC in TD's, hes doing everything he should be doing, cut back on some stupid pentatilites, and we will see how far we get into the post-season

A lot of people have been saying that he can win a big game, well last year when we went ot Philly and we were down 17 points in the 4 quarter facing an 0-2 start (would of been 0-3 after the loss to seattle), Eli lead us to a tie game, and the winning TD in overtime. Sure it might not be as big as a playoff game, but he is still making progress there, First playoff game got shut out, second playoff game loss by a game ending field goal, hes getting better and better

And also read somewhere(nfl.com) he is on current pace to have 3000+ yards, 20+ TD's in three consecutive years, the only Giant QB to do that was Phil Simms (you know the one that won the super bowl, and was named MVP)

Artie - you made my point in your muse above. By the way, Eli is ranked 14 in the league (QB Rating), 20 last week (Kitna is 8th). Who do you want to go to war with?

The problem that I think we all have with Eli is not that he is bad (he is not), it is the hype and the expectations and what we gave up to get him when there were options! Lets see after Sunday...

First off i blame the offensive coordinator we are to conservative they don't allow Eli to be good i think Eli has a lot of potential and if they open the play book he will make the plays..They don't go deep unless its a play action, they don't spread shockey out anymore to get that 1 on 1 coverage with the safety that can't cover him, they don't use moss down the field even if you don't throw the ball to him defenses has to respect it and that will open up a lot of underneath passes to Amani Toomer and Shockey and that will open up the flats coming out the backfield like jacobs, ward, and company, theses guys are playing with no confidence because the coaches show no confidence in them by being so conservative..Stop being afraid to take chances throw the ball down the field We have the Weapons USE THEM..

Eli seems like he just doesn't want to pass it to Moss. The guy has been open, but he will force it somewhere else.

Eli does need to step out of the box and be more creative with the passing game. But I don't know if throwing to Moss more would be the answer. Obviously this offense can't just run on Plax and Shockey, but checking down to Jacobs or Ward(if he can get healthy) will more than make up for a dissapointing Moss. Early projection Sunday, Giants 21 Lions 16. Though the Lions should be favored for being 4-0 and almost unstoppable at home.

We gotta find an O. Coordinator who will push the ball. Jacobs and Ward (when healthy) will keep defenses honest. Kind of weird though that Eli is at his best when he's passing out of play action, when he's um I don't know THROWING THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD. We have legit pressences over the middle to keep safties honest and not just creep back in cover 2. Plax isn't a burner but he has long strides and can leap (when his ankle isn't falling off). Even if they do drop the safties in a bubble coverage then you open up the middle of the field so you are still moving the ball. And when we drafted Sinorice did TC and his staff not say how they were going to throw in all these gadget plays and set ups to get Moss the ball so he could use his most valuable skills, his speed and agility. The guy is too small to break off a press coverage and obviously not experienced enough with Eli to draw those throws that might require a little more effort then quick slants and bubble screens they throw to him. Send Plax and Sinorice deep and let Toomer and Shock get open underneath and let the #1 Overall make plays.
