Surgery for Kiwanuka, soreness for Jacobs

That's the latest news from TC... Jacobs will be further evaluated this week, as will Derrick Ward, who is going on a month of missed action with a badly sprained ankle and a groin pull. If they're both out Sunday against the Vikings, TC did say that Ahmad Bradshaw would be ready to play more and that the rookie RB has been more involved in the offense during practice. He did have a snap on Sunday, when he dropped a go screen.

As for Kiwanuka, the surgery today will stabilize his ankle and lower leg and he'll be on injured reserve shortly. No chance of a return this season.

TC listed Reggie Torbor, Chase Blackburn and Gerris Wilkinson as possible replacements at SLB and said he hoped that the Giants wouldn't have to change much in their pass rush with Kiwanuka out. Fred Robbins got some of those passing-situation snaps yesterday and should get more.

Why not give DeOssie a look?

Bad news about Kiwanuka... I don't think we'll lose that much from a Linebacking perspective, but losing a pass rusher doesn't bode well down the road. I like Fred Robbins, but I doubt he can get to the QB the way Kiwi can.

I hope Jacobs' hammy isn't too bad. Those things have a way of lingering. Is it me, or does he seem to be nicked up alot? Either way, we better hope Rueben Droughns stays healthy (unexciting as he may be), because I don't think TC wants to rely on butterfingers Bradshaw for very long stretches.

That kid will be a nice change-of-pace once his hands get more reliable.

Speaking of hands, it seems like Madison Hedgecock is getting better at catching passes out of the backfield.. I think he took a screen pass for a first down this week. I like him more and more.

Really sucks about Kiwi, but Jacobs is the real concern right now. The running game died off when he left the field and Ruby is'nt reliable enough to carry the load. Derrick Ward better hurry up and heal fast. I don't think Bradshaw is ready to run the ball quite yet. Maybe he might have to.............

Plax... Ward... Smith... Kiwi... Jacobs... anybody else getting that feeling of deja vu from last year?

Tough for Kiwi, not only will he be missed for pass rush, but as a newly LB, he will be missing alot of on-field experience, that he really needs

Im pretty confiendent in Bradshaw, maybe not to carry the load, but he's a good change of pace kind of guy, was very productive in preseason, (one game was like 10 yards per carry). He is doing very good with the KR, and would like to see him more involved in the offense.

Moss had a good game, Must not loss the ball though!

Eli played very good, over 100 QB rating, and most importantly he did not turn the ball over, like some other offense players
Special teams was excellent

Plax did not look good at all, that injury is seriously messing with him, I think he needs a game or two off, if not limited play then, we need him down the stretch, he can probably miss Vikings and maybe the Bears game.

Never thought I would say this, but i agree with Coughlin that the offense is not scoring enough points, they had a chance to knock another 14 points on the scoreboard, but had two fumbles in the red zone (or green zone, scoring zone non the less)

Giants need to get some key players back, at least get Smith/Ward back into action, there both playmakers which the giants could use a little more depth at right now

How come Deossie doesnt get a shot at LB?

"Eli Manning dropped back to throw 41 times on Sunday... Manning has had that many passing plays 11 times in his 49 starts and the Giants are 4-7 in those games." - (Arties words) - Who cares about his 100+ game rating, we kept Detroit in the game until 1:28 min. in the 4th. and needed our D to win the game! We most certainly would have lost the game without that INT!

QB Ratings as per today: (So what does this tell us? We're going 1 and Out in the post-season - if we make it...)

1 Tom Brady 134.0
2 Brett Favre 98.6
3 Tony Romo 105.6
4 Carson Palmer 88.0
5 Drew Brees 83.4
6 Jon Kitna 90.2
7 Matt Hasselbeck 91.4
8 Peyton Manning 87.2
9 Derek Anderson 88.8
10 Donovan McNabb 87.3
11 Ben Roethlisberger 107.5
12 Jeff Garcia 96.6
13 Eli Manning 81.3
14 Jason Campbell 80.7
15 Jay Cutler 88.3

This web site should be named Arthur Staple sometimes and then only partially with the Giants. Being from Florida I hunger for Giant's news. However I amtaking this web site off of my bookmarks.
