We should know one way or the other the deal is with Brett Favre today. That is the hope, anyway.
Favre met for most of the night last night with head coach Mike McCarthy, and then with general manager Ted Thompson.
And it may not be a fait accompli that he is back with the Packers after all. FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports the two sides remain in limbo, and that Favre himself indicated he does not want to become a distraction to the locker room (ha!).
Wonder if Ari Fleischer will sort it all out for us at a press briefing.
The plan right now is that McCarthy will address the media shortly before a 2 p.m. practice session.
My intention remains to see Chansi Stuckey and the rest of the Boland's Jets practice today, although Mr. Favre may once again force me to change my plans.
btw, Boland and Rock will be live chatting today, so make sure to tune in to Newsday.com/sports for all the festivities. Boland is scheduled to chat at 11:30 a.m. and Rock is set for 2 p.m.

Oh, Brett FARVE.
Wasn't he a 2nd round pick from a small school in the '91 draft for Atlanta? Didn't last long there.
What an obscure reference though. Who will we be discussing next week, Browning Nagle? Atleast he was from a bigger school and became a starter for the team that drafted him.
I guess the unmentioned story so far in this sordid tale is that Brian Brohm will be expected to be GB's next starting QB since Favre coming back this season buys him a full season to learn what he needs to learn. And, nobody is really saying much about the organization's lack of confidence in Rodgers.
Can someone please start a rumor that Joe Pisarcik is coming back?
Hey, I just heard Joe Pisarcik is coming back!!!
Pisarcik's coming back? Yay!
