Asante Samuel still on the shelf
The Eagles poured a pile of money into the free agent cornerback, but he has taken only a handful of snaps in training camp and the off-season before going with hamstring problems.
He's still out and won't make an appearance in tomorrow night's preseason opener against the Steelers.
Hmmm. Wonder how Lito Sheppard feels.
Sheppard hasn't gotten the raise he's been after, nor has he been traded.

Bob: It's not just Samuel's injury, but Shawn Andrews is missing from camp and the Eagles wide receiver corps is hurting as well. I heard today that DeSean Jackson may start tonight's game vs. the Steelers, even though he himself is just back from injury. Same old story with the Birds, training camp injuries taking their toll. At least they got the Westbrook deal done; with Samuel hurt, I think it's only a matter of time before one gets done with Lito Sheppard, too. But I could be way off base here; I thought the Jets had no chance at Favre, either!!
