The Padres traded lefthander Randy Wolf to the Astros for minor league pitcher Chad Reineke. Wolf is 6-10 with a 4.74 ERA, but was excellent at home in spacious PETCO Park and awful on the road. He was 5-4 with a 3.17 ERA at home and 1-6 with a 6.63 ERA on the road. He will start on Sunday at Milwaukee.

Adam, do you like Nolasco tomorrow against the Bravos?

I do not like him in this spot. He was shaky his last start and has been pounded by the Braves this season.

I have Rauch and Owings - any chance Rauch takes over as closer and is Owings done as a starter?
Andy,
There is a chance Rauch takes over as closer. The job is still Brandon Lyon's right now. Lyon has been very good this season, but has struggled at times the last month. He has allowed 13 earned runs in his last 11 2/3 innings, including seven runs in his last two outings. Owings' status is still undetermined. He was needed in relief because the D-Backs bullpen was depleted. Petit was solid in both of his starts this season, but he did walk four in five innings in his last start. A decision should come in the next day or two regarding whether Owings will start.
