assume Kendricks is slumping, .188 avg, etc, etc. Should I trade him and Blalock for Uggla? In my league I am able to play Blalock at OF(which I am doing), and I have Ankiel and Hart reserved.Your thoughts?

Very good article in todays paper...

You should make that deal. However, Blalock shouldn't be playing over Ankiel and Hart. Ankiel and Hart should start. Then Uggla could play second.

what if Kendricks is playing good, say batting .320?

Adam,

Duchscherer got dropped in my league. Would you rather have him over Buehrle, Lowe, C Young (SD) or Oswalt?

Slugger,

Kendrick is a good hitter, but doesn't offer much for fantasy. It all depends on how deep your league is. Based on the trade proposal you mentioned, I would do it. Ankiel and Hart should be starting for you.

JD,

I'd stick with what you have. I have been saying to sell high on Duchscherer. He has been a reliever the last four years and only pitched 17 games last season due to injury. He's already at 121 2/3 innings and his previous high was 96 1/3 innings in 2004. In his last three starts, his K/BB ratio is just 13/7 and he's allowed four homers after allowing just five all season. His BABIP is also very low.

I got F'd in the A. First Marte, now Jones in Detroit. I picked up Yates but Jones' replacement was already picked up. J.J. Putz is on the market, what's your thoughts on him considering the M's awesome offense?

Also, do you think Jones would eventually get the job back?

I'd say it's unlikely Jones claims his job back. There's a small chance if the Tigers don't acquire a closer or Rodney is awful. Jones should close today after Rodney threw 42 pitches yesterday. As for Putz, he could get the job back. He has looked good since his return, but Morrow has also been very good. There is talk of making Morrow a starter, so it's possible Putz gets his job back. Be ready to act quickly this week since more trades will be made changing the role of many bullpen guys.

I'm in a 30 team mixed league. So assuming Kedricks is batting about .300, should I do the trade? And If I do thetrade, I will want OF help. I could either do Wainwright for Victorino or El Duque for Thames. My staff is good enough, I can start only 5 guys, and I have Bedard, Volquez, Lincecum, McGowan, Wainwright, and El Duque. Your thoughts about deal #2, if you think I should do the first trade?

Slugger,

You should do the first trade if you need power. Blalock is hurting again and you can't count on him. Wainwright could return as a closer, so keep that in mind. Starters have limited starts and offensive players will have more of an impact in the final two months. On most occasions, it's beneficial to trade pitchers for offense at this time. I wouldn't count on El Duque at all, so I would trade him for Thames. Your pitching staff isn't as strong as you claim. Bedard is hurt, McGowan is out for the season, and El Duque could get hurt at any time. I would normally trade Wainwright for Victorino, but you need to figure out if you have enough starters.
