I have blogged at all times of the day and many times while on the road for work related assignments. But I have never blogged from the courthouse until now. I am currently on jury duty in Jamaica, Queens and I am showing my dedication to you guys. Well, that and I need something to pass the time.

Once again, Milton Bradley left a game with an injury. He departed last night after being hit on the forearm with a pitch. He is day-to-day, but this happens way too often and you need to sell high.

David Ortiz is expected to come off the disabled list tomorrow. Just in time for the Yankees.

Pedro Martinez will not start tomorrow against the Cardinals after learning of the death of his father, Pablo, who was battling brain cancer. Mike Pelfrey will start tomorrow and the Mets will likely recall someone from Triple-A to start Saturday.

Jorge Posada needs surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but he is bypassing surgery at this time and hopes to return as a designated hitter.

Jesse Litsch has been a solid starter for most of the season, but three poor starts have sent him to Triple-A Syracuse. He is 8-7 with a 4.46 ERA. In his last 12 2/3 innings, he has allowed 22 hits and 15 earned runs and is 0-3. The Blue Jays recalled lefthander David Purcey, who went 8-6 with 121 strikeouts and 34 walks at Triple-A.

Colby Rasmus, a top Cardinals outfield prospect that many thought would be in the majors this season, will miss the Olympics with a left MCL sprain and will likely be sidelined for one month.

Lastings Milledge is expected to come off the disabled list tomorrow.

Chris Carpenter will makes his second rehab start tomorrow at Triple-A. He threw four scoreless innings on Sunday at Double-A. If you have a spot to stash him, it's worth a shot.

Whats the deal w/ Liriano? I just picked him up and I want to play him. When will the Twins call him up?

It's a good thing these courtrooms have computers as I narrowly averted being selected to a jury for the moment. I didn't even know they had computers. I'm hoping the excuse of blogging fantasy baseball, which is a 24-hour job gets me off the hook.

I discussed Liriano on the fantasyphenoms baseball show last night. He should be up by now. What else does the guy have to do? He's been dominant and the Twins are fighting for a division title and I think Liriano is a much better option than Livan Hernandez. The fact that Liriano's agent filed a grievance doesn't endear him any more to the Twins. Just wait it out. He should be up soon. Maybe after he throws a perfect game he will be up.

Just tell the lawyers that your a racist. That'll probably get you out. Good luck

Adam,

Can you come up w/ any complelling reasons to hang on to Hermida? I've been starting him all season and I'm about to cut him loose. I know he had a big 2nd half last year but I'm running out of patience. I just picked up Adam Lind and anticipate Lind putting up bigger #'s down the stretch.

Mark,

I don't think you need to hold on to Hermida. I would play Lind while he's hot. Hermida did have the big second half last season, but he strikes out a lot and his BABIP doesn't suggest he has had bad luck. If you have a better option, you can cut him.

Adam whos gonna close while Wood is on the DL?

Carlos Marmol or Jeff Samardzija ???

It will be Marmol.
