The Dodgers have recalled 20-year-old lefthander Clayton Kershaw from Double-A Jacksonville. In 43 1/3 innings, he allowed 32 hits, 15 walks and struck out 47. He had a 2.28 ERA. Pick him up in deep mixed leagues and NL-only leagues.

He looked good yesterday. I have read that Torre was waiting to bring him up until later in the season. I also read (in a blurb) he would with the Dodgers until All-Star break and then might go down. You know anything further? I ask because I picked him up and feel I can now try to package one of my other pitchers (Matt Cain, Eveland) in a deal to bet me a bigger bat but don't want to be assed out if Kershaw goes back down.
I think the Dodgers will be very cautious with him. He has struggled with his control in the minors and that could happen in the majors, too. The Dodgers were limiting his pitch counts the past few weeks. I don't think it's a lock that he stays in the rotation for the rest of the season. If he pitches like he did yesterday, then that will make the decision tougher. I'd wait a few more starts before leaning on him heavily.
