The Rays have elected to send Evan Longoria down to Triple-A. I'm so upset by this move you would have thought it was Eva Longoria. I have Longoria as a backup on one team, so I'm not relying on him in fantasy, but the guy deserved to play third base. He proved in the spring he won the job, but the Rays know by sending him to the minors, they control his rights for an extra year. Way to build a winning team Tampa Bay. Willy Aybar will start at third base. Longoria should be up at some point. If you're in a keeper league or have a bench spot for him, draft him late.
The Phillies placed closer Brad Lidge on the 15-day DL, but he won't miss much time. He is eligible to return April 5. Tom Gordon will fill in while Lidge is out. It's safe to still draft Lidge.

Hey Adam ... last time I'll bring this up (and I need your help!!!). Pujols is having an explosive spring so far (batting over .400 w/ 5 HR's) ... soooooooo, would you now change your stance about keeping Pujols over Tex as a keeper in a 15 team head to head league. I'm distraught over this ... keepers get locked in Wed. night.
I know those arm issues are scary but Albert seems to be on a mission to prove something this year (for all of those people yapping about his elbow/arm issues). I know the safe pick is Teixera BUT Albert is a beast. I traded for him last year (giving away Peavy and Fielder in the process) w/ the anticipation of having him as a keeper for 3 years.
What should I do???? Guide me Adam, guide me!!!!!
Brian,
This is a very tough decision. I understand the agony you are enduring. I just can't take Pujols at this time. I can't see building your team around a guy who will need reconstructive surgery at some point. His power declined last season and that could be a sign that the elbow is more of a problem than we thought. I don't take spring stats seriously. He might make those that passed him look very foolish, but we know he does need surgey and that makes me uncomfortable investing heavy in him.
I could not agree with you more about Longoria,Tampa Bay show's why they will never be a winning orginazation. You have a player who MAY be a superstar, and they want to save a few bucks. Say what you want about the New York teams,at least they are in to win. And,yes,I do have Longoria on my fantasy team.
