Coach Scott Gordon's to-do list to change the Islanders

This comes to you from Michael Schuerlein, an Islander blog boxer and loyal TFS reader. Here's his list of five changes new coach Scott Gordon has to make:

1. Gain the trust and respect of his veteran players.

2. Formulate a system that plays into his teams strengths and weaknesses.

3. As a former goaltender and New England native, he needs to get DiPietro to play less games because a healthy DiPietro makes his team better.

4. Ability to learn and adapt his plays as the season goes along.

5. Play the kids, play the kids and play the kids.
